Below are some tasks for you to complete during remote learning. Enjoy!
Visit the Globe Trottin' Kids website (link below) and complete the Germany challenge.
This site is full of interesting facts about Germany. You will have to scroll through and read the information before getting to the challenge at the bottom of the page.
You can complete this challenge on paper or using Book Creator.
Last week we started to create questions and answers to make our own Kahoot. Please continue this task by inserting your questions into your own Kahoot game.
If you have forgotten your questions, you can create new ones by using the knowledge you already have and the book creator you completed earlier this term. You also might like to research using google or kiddle.
Watch the video clip provided.
From this, you might like to:
fill a clean shoe with sweets, nuts and other small gifts (or decorate a clean shoe in a similar, creative way)
create your own Advent Christmas Wreath (made from flowers, berries and pine cones)
discuss the similarities and difference between an Australian Christmas and a German Christmas. You might like to use a venn diagram
Welcome to term 4 - where you will be working with new teachers, Mrs Noonan and Mrs Hyden.
This term the focus for Global Studies is exploring and learning about Germany.
Germany is located in Europe and it's capital city is Berlin. It has many neighbouring countries including Poland and Austria.
Watch the video provided about colours. Then use Book Creator to create a German colour book. Have one page per colour. Things to include could be, the German spelling of each colour, pictures of objects that colour, video / recording of you saying the colour in German.
Watch the video provided about German numbers. Then create a resource (i.e. clips / video / book creator / board game) that could be used to help younger students learn numbers in German.
Watch the video provided to learn basic greetings in German. Film yourself or with a family member saying these basic greetings (hello, goodbye). Google translate will also assist with pronunciation.
Watch the geographical video about Germany and answer the below questions:
What continent is Germany in?
What is the capital city?
What is a neighbouring country to Germany?
Any other interesting facts please list.
Konnichiwa my wonderful Global Super Stars

Below are some activities for you to do. Don't worry that you don't have your Global Studies book at home, all you need is some plain paper and coloured pencils.

Week 10 Year 3,4, 5/6 activity
Today's task: You are going to watch a BTN episode about Marngrook. Marngrook is a traditional Indigenous game.
After you have viewed the episode, I want you to write down some similarities and differences between Marngrook and AFL as we know it today.
What is your opinion? Is is Possible Marngrook was the beginning of our beloved game of AFL?
It is your choice how you present your conclusion, however, a Venn Diagram could be a useful way to compare and form your conclusion.
Have fun and happy holidays. I look forward to seeing your smiling faces Term 4.

If you’ve ever been to Japanese or Asian restaurants, you’ve probably seen the small maneki-neko ornament waving at you from shop windows. Also known as the welcoming cat, lucky cat, money cat, happy cat, and beckoning cat, the maneki-neko figurine is believed to bring good fortune to businesses.
Today' s task is is to listen to the tale of the Japanese story 'The Tale of the Lucky Cat '(you know who much Mrs King loves stories!!!)
Before the story begins, you meet the famous author and illustrator of many Japanese children's book.
After you have listened to the story I would like you to draw part of the story on a piece of a paper. Make you sure include maneki-neko ( the lucky cat) in your illustration. I look forward to seeing your work on our Celebration Wall.
Optional activity: If you feel like moving your body, don't forget you can practise 'Heads, Shoulders,Knees and Toes in Japanese :)

Konnichiwa !
I miss your faces and you are filling by bucket with all your posts on the Celebration Wall. Keep posting for Mrs King.
Today I would love you to listen about a Japanese girl called Suki on her first day of school.
After you read this story, I would love you to draw Suki and her beautiful Kimono. Or you could pretend you are a proud Japanese girl/boy starting school in your beautiful kimono.
Write a sentence about why Suki or yourself are so proud of wearing her /his kimono. Remember boys wear kimonos too!
I will give you a hint; Think about our prior knowledge of what we have learnt about kimonos and Japanese celebrations. (Sakura , Children's Day, New School Year )
Have fun!
Mrs King :)
Konnichiwa Year 3-4!
It has been lovely to see your comics on the Celebration Wall! Well done.
Today you have 2 options. Continue with your Chopstick comics.
Your second option is to look at the 5-6 activity and complete that. It is not difficult and I think it you will enjoy it. Have fun .
Hello !
Great week last week. I loved seeing your work on the Celebration Wall. Keep it coming, it makes me smile.
You have 2 choices this week, you can continue with our Japan matrix of activities, or.... if you want to have a break you might like this activity as an option.....
First watch 29 things only to be found in Japan. Then imagine if a genie granted you 5 wishes. What 5 things would you like Australia to introduce that Japan has?
Konnichiwa Super Stars. Today I thought we could get our bodies moving while practising our Heads, Shoulders Knees and Toes song, all in Japanese. How clever you all are! You might like to get your family to have a go as well.
Then I would like you to draw a picture of yourself or a family member and and then label your body parts in Japanese. I have included a poster with the words to help you. Have fun:)

Konnichiwa !
Today you have 2 options! You may like to finish your Takashi skateboard design if you haven't yet finished. You can then go on with the Chopstick comic we started last week in class. Remember to include at least 4 of your favourite rules! You may like to use paper to create your comic or use book creator. The choice is yours! Have fun.
Hello 5/6 Team,
You can continue with your Japanese matrix. You should have a copy of the tasks on your iPads from the beginning of the term. It would be great if you could upload a completed task on the Celebration Wall.
