Scholarships and paying for your study

Further study does come at a cost. The cost to regional students who need to move away from home to pursue further study is higher than for other students.

There are a range of options to help students finance their study.

Government Subsidised Places

Most university and TAFE courses offer government subsided places. All VTAC course code that ends in a 1 will have part of the tuition cost paid by the government. Some course codes that end in a 4 are also subsidised (especially TAFE courses). There are also a number of FREE TAFE courses. see below.

Youth Allowance

Full time students may be eligible for Youth Allowance (depending on family income).

  1. Apply for some scholarships as part of your VTAC application.

  2. Check the scholarships pages of the education providers for other scholarships not listed on VTAC

  3. Check the Horsham College SEQTA Notices and Careers Facebook Group regularly.
