Students in VCAL
Undertake practical work related experience as part of their final two years of school
Develop literacy and numeracy skills aligned with their vocational career path
Study Work-Related Skills and Personal Development Skills relevant to the workplace.
Undertake applied learning with a ‘hands on’ approach
Receive Career advice and support for pathways into TAFE, apprenticeships/traineeships or employment linked to training
Complete a minimum of 90 hours of work placement
Undertake Structured Workplace Learning or School-Based Apprenticeship aligned with a VET course
Complete a Career Action Plan in My Career Portfolio
Hear from guest speakers and employers from a range of industries
Attend industry tours
All VCE - VM students are expected to attend a careers counselling session with the vocational careers team.
