VCE

VCE students complete a program that equips them for further study, training or employment. Students can choose to include a VET certificate as part of their VCE program to help them prepare for any of these career paths.

Students who want to go on to further study usually need to sit exams and receive an ATAR to be accepted into a course, although there are a number of courses who may have alternative requirements.

Students who want to progress to work, apprenticeships or traineeships are not required to sit exams and receive an ATAR in order to be successful in the VCE.

VCE students attend the Western Victorian Careers Expo and have access to guest speakers, VTAC and Careers presentations, events, excursions and tours. They receive advice on scholarships and Special Entry Access Programs (SEAS). They also complete a careers action plan as part of My Career Portfolio (an e-portfolio platform). All students must have completed a career action plan prior to meeting with a careers adviser.

It is compulsory for all Yr 12 students to meet with careers adviser prior to the end of August. Yr 11 students can request an appointment.
