Mr Dave Haggart
Principal (relieving)
As we approach the end of the year, we are excited to share some wonderful highlights from our vibrant school community.
Our Year 11 students have officially commenced their HSC courses, and it was heartening to see so many families join us for the HSC Information Night. By working together, we can support our students in striving for their personal best during this crucial final year of high school. Many students have already embraced the increased academic demands by making excellent use of our Learning Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays.
This week, we will hold our annual High Tea, organised by Nazek and her dedicated team. We look forward to this special event celebrating our community spirit.
This Friday, our Year 7 and Year 10 students will proudly participate in the ‘Say No to Domestic Violence’ walk, representing our school and demonstrating their commitment to raising awareness about this important community issue.
Ms Blomkamp recently facilitated a two-day High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program for students from our feeder primary schools. The Year 5 students had a fantastic experience, engaging eagerly with the challenging activities.
In a vibrant showcase of creativity and collaboration, Year 7 students will soon take part in the Shakespeare Show Off, featuring innovative and informative stalls. We are delighted to welcome Kogarah Public School, whose students provide valuable feedback, enriching the experience. Meanwhile, our Year 10 Commerce students are busy organising their Market Day, applying their learning in real-world contexts.
This term, we are also preparing to warmly welcome our incoming Year 7 families for 2026 through three-way interviews and an Orientation Day filled with fun and engaging activities. Our enthusiastic Year 9 peer support leaders have stepped up to guide and assist new students as they transition into our school community.
As the year draws to a close, students in Years 7 to 10 will receive their final reports. This is a valuable opportunity for families to celebrate achievements and to reflect on areas for growth and further development.
Please note that all students will return to school on Monday, 2 February 2026. Additional information regarding school requirements and start dates will be communicated via School Bytes.
Ms Best will be relieving as Principal until the end of the year while I am on sick leave. I would like to extend my warmest wishes to everyone for a relaxing, safe, and joyful festive season, and a wonderful end-of-year break. Here’s to a successful and promising year ahead!
Ms Kym Ellis
Deputy Principal
As we move towards the end of another busy term, I want to take a moment to acknowledge and congratulate our Year 12 students for successfully completing their HSC examinations. This marks the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and we wish them all the very best as they await their results and prepare for the next steps in their futures.
Meanwhile, some of our Year 10 students have been participating in the Youth Mental Health First Aid program facilitated by Mr Dangas. This important initiative is equipping them with valuable skills to support themselves and their peers in maintaining good mental health, an area we are proud to prioritise in our school community.
In supporting our students’ subject selection for Year 12, we have recently conducted interviews with all Year 11 students. These discussions are vital in helping students make informed decisions about their senior study pathways, ensuring they are well-prepared and confident moving forward.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the parents who attended the Year 12 Information Evening. Your involvement is crucial, and your commitment to understanding the NESA requirements for the HSC and ways to support your child during this challenging time is greatly appreciated.
Lastly, on Friday 31st October, we celebrated World Teacher’s Day. A big thank you goes out to all our dedicated staff whose expertise, care, and enthusiasm profoundly shape the lives of our young people. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for your continued commitment to our students’ success.
Thank you to our entire school community for your ongoing support.
