Through hands-on activities, students engage with real-world ecological concepts, fostering an understanding of the importance of water quality and river health. 

By participating in the Hunter River Health Check, students develop enterprising behaviours such as decision making, problem solving and effective communication skills. 

Capabilities are developed through inquiry based learning and exploring simple scientific principles. The program integrates critical and creative thinking and provides students with an ethical understanding as it relates to the natural environment.
