The Hunter River Health Check supports schools and educators by aligning with the NSW Department of Education curriculum and syllabus (K-10).
Through the Hunter River Health Check, students investigate sustainable practices that protect environments, including those of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People (ACHGK023, ACHGK024, ACHGK025).
Students examine how the environment, including waste, can be managed sustainably for commercial and agricultural purposes.
Students investigate the ways people change the natural environment in Australia (ACHGK026, ACHGK027) and examine how people have influenced our country's environmental characteristics e.g land clearing, farming.
The program will explore how the natural environment influences people and places (ACHGK028). We investigate climate and landforms and how these factors influence the distribution of where people live.
