Retrospective (looking back on what you wrote and how it was influenced by the prescribed text from Module C)
Voice should be authentic but maintain academic register
This Module is all about Craft. It is less focussed on literary analysis than the other three Modules.
Generally, your analysis of the Module C prescribed text should focus on the Craft elements of it (e.g. structure, techniques, language) rather than the ideas contained in it. You can still (briefly) discuss the ideas and themes from your prescribed texts, but the focus needs to be on Craft. Then you explain how these elements have influenced the composition of your own piece.
For this reason, it makes your job easier if you choose a prescribed text for the Part B: Reflection Statement that matches the text type of your piece in Part A (e.g. for imaginative pick The Pedestrian; for persuasive pick The Sporting Spirit; for discursive pick A Comparison).
Briefly state the purpose you were trying to achieve with your text
Mention how you incorporated the stimulus from the question into your text
Summarise how the prescribed text from Module C influenced the text you wrote
Introduce the most prominent stylistic features of both texts (structure, techniques, language) and how yours relates to the prescribed text
Body Paragraphs are structured around stylistic features (structure, techniques, language)
Body Paragraph 1 - 1st stylistic feature
Introduce an example of a stylistic feature from your text and what purpose it was used for. Quote from your own work and explain how effective it was.
Introduce an example of the SAME stylistic feature from the Prescribed text and what purpose it was used for. Quote from the prescribed text.
Explain how the use of this feature in the prescribed text influenced your use of it in your text. Compare and contrast the two examples.
Body Paragraph 2 - 2nd stylistic feature
Introduce another example of a stylistic feature from your text and what purpose it was used for.
