-The Official P7D Website-
This will be used to give weekly info about what we've been learning and creating!
We've recently been learning the dangers of drugs and why you shouldn't take them, along with individually creating booklets or leaflets on a drug to show our learning! November 2024
Our novel, Silverfin, has been very exciting with great action , so we made comic strips to retell the opening bit of the story! October 2024
In maths and numeracy, we've been learning multiplication strategies to use, such as the formal algorithm or otherwise known as the chimney strategy.
We recently learned about the creation story! So we created it in lego, trying to show it to the best we could using the pieces we had. The class thought it was interesting along with being a very good and fun lesson!
We've also been revising different writing types such as recounts, procedure and reports to help us remember how to do them! October- December 2024
Just like our WW2 topic, we've been doing homework such as making the Mexico flag, make a fact file on a Mexican animal or even making mexican food, all for our Mexico topic!
<- Here is the wall of homework! November-December 2024
Frida Kahlo was a famous Mexican artist from 1907 to 1954, so we drew them!
Everyone did their own Frida Kahlo with different colours of flowers and backrounds! November 2024
In our Mexico learning, we've created great Mexico Aztec God masks!
By turning our names backwards, we created the name for our own individual god. November 2024
Recently, we've been reading our class novel, Letters from the Lighthouse!
A World War 2 book about evacuee children travelling from London to the countryside due to the bombing.
The book includes a few characters such as Olive, the main character and middle child, Cliff, young brother to sisters Olive and Sukie, currently thought to be dead! 12.09.24
Also, we've been making some great WW2 homework like
these Anderson Shelters!
As well as that homework, reading groups and reading homework have been active, reading great books to keep up on reading skills!
Some of our WW2 work!
These are our unique hands!
We have each made one in a unique pattern, each tells a bit about us and our lives!
Along with that, we've made some learning pits which are to show some phrases to help us carry on when we're feeling annoyed or frustrated.
Phrases such as:
I can do it and How do I do this?
Pictures of some learning pits are shown below:
We have been using a site called Adobe Express to create some WW2 memes!
In groups of two, we created some very well done WW2 fact files! Filled with information about the Blitz.
Once again, using Adobe Express, we made WW2 code breakers! Above are 4 images of the code breakers:
P7 is now into homework task 3 of WW2 projects!
We have been doing a small 15 minute writing piece every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!
We have a target of at least 18 pupils get 6 sentences with correct punctuation (full stops, exclamation marks, question marks and commas) and correct capitals!
Our pieces are either based off a short film in which we change up or just write it or they're creative, meaning our entirely own stories.
In our class, we've been creating propaganda posters from WW2.
There were posters of cartoon foods to get kids to eat fruit and veg due to shortage of food and the dig for victory scheme!
So we made our cartoon food!
Dig for victory was a campaign by the government to get people to grow their own fruit/veg anywhere, even the London river!
