We used Adobe Express to make Our first cipher wheels, this is similar to how people in World War II sent secret messages.
We had a go at trying to crack the code that Olive found in Suki's coat in our class novel, Letters from the Lighthouse.

Our class novel is called Letters from the Lighthouse and it is set in WWII. It is about two evacuee children who are sent out of London to live in Devon.

We use these to help show how we are feeling throughout the day. If you put a yellow sticky note on your rock it signals to the teacher that you would like to chat about how you're feeling and why you're feeling it.

We wrote post cards as Olive or Cliff from our novel. In the story Olive wrote a post card to her mum and lied to stop her mum from worrying. We tried doing it too.

Our topic is World War II and we have been doing some work on the contries and their leaders during war.

We've been learning about evacuees here is a piece of work about that.
We have learned about the leaders of WW II and some of those leaders were FDR, Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.
These are some of the leaders in the war. The main ones are Benito Mussollini and Adolf Hitler.
In the makerspace we have been learning the cycle of the engineering process.
We had to make a house to protect from wind and water.

Communicating is an important part of working together.
This is us starting the bridges. Unfortunately a few were broken or ripped in the process but they are looking good so far.
In art we have copied a video and sketched it out then outlined and finally coloured.

We did a lesson on dangerous drugs and sorted them so that they are categorised into legal and illegal.

On the 15th December P7A had a Mexican themed afternoon.
They watched a Pixar film called Coco and had Mexican food😛.The film relates to Day of the Dead or Días de los Muertos in Mexican. It's plot revolves around a young boy called Miguel Rivera who wants to go against his family who make shoes and hate music and become a musician like his great-great-grandfather who was Hector Rivera🎸 . Who was being forgotten by his daughter Coco.

We are so close to finishing this really good book, it has an amazing story with a great start, I wonder how it will end?
This is the story of the early life of James Bond. The first part of the book takes place at Eton and the second half in Scotland. The story has the usual mix of action and suspense that you would get from a James Bond story.
We are learning about tribes because of our novel The Wind Singer where we have met two new tribes.
Our class has been learning about different tribes and where they are in the world. We even had a go at creating our own.
