At East Lothian Council, we understand how challenging and isolating it can be for neurodiverse children/ young people and their parents/ carers. We listened to our families, children, young people and those who work closest with them who told us what areas of life they experience most difficulty with, and what would help the most.
We then partnered with a range of excellent support services with expertise in supporting neurodiverse children, young people and their families and are delighted to be able to bring a suite of projects to East Lothian.
These services aim to provide support in a range of different ways such as combating social inclusion, identifying resources and supports for parents/carers, providing respite opportunities over school breaks and help for our neurodiverse kids to better understand themselves, their needs and the amazing ways that make them unique!
