The Mental Health and Wellbeing Triage Group is a group of professionals who meet on a regular basis to consider Single Point of Access Requests for Assistance which request Additional or Tier 2 level Mental Health and Wellbeing supports for a child or young person. The group meets in full once a month to discuss more complex cases but there are smaller triage meetings held on a fortnightly basis at which most of the requests are allocated an intervention.
The full group includes colleagues from CAMHS, the Mental Health Youth Work Team, Social Work, Educational Psychology and 3rd Sector Partners.
Supports which may be allocated by the group include:
Mental Health Youth Work interventions for anxiety, change and loss, low mood and general wellbeing.
Counselling
Creative Therapies (Art/Play)
Self Help Resources for Parents, Children/Young People and Schools.
Recommendations for other supports
The Triage Group consider all requests very carefully and will offer what they believe to be the most appropriate service based on the difficulties described in the Requests for Assistance. As part of the triaging process, members of the group may contact requesters for more information.
