In August 2022, a group of 10 educators from Dignity completed the SEL Instruction certification course by Academy for SEL in Schools, Rutgers University.
We were ecstatic to have a cohort of trained, certified SEL educators. It got us all asking, "What next?" and it was evident that everyone wanted to do more with their knowledge and skills about SEL.
Driven by the motivation to equip all Dignity teachers with a solid foundation in SEL, this course was created! We started our first cohort in February 2023, with 13 teachers from all education departments. This course runs annually to date.
Our aim is to pass on knowledge, skills and mindsets of an SEL teacher and widen the circle of trained SEL teachers within Dignity For Children.
