There are a wide variety of websites that promise to help you easily construct a Works Cited page or bibliography. These can be useful tools that provide a wealth of information. However, it is important to understand that no matter what site you might use, you are responsible for citing and sourcing your material properly; don’t blame errors on the website.
For example, some popular websites, such as NoodleTools, EasyBib, and Citation Machine can be unreliable, as they may not be up to date or may have information that was input incorrectly. At the same time, the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) is an excellent and comprehensive resource that strives to stay current. Helpfully, if you buy the MLA Handbook, you also receive an activation code that allows you full access to the MLA website. This provides full text of the book, along with many examples and other resources.
