Canberra High School celebrates many key moments throughout the school year through special assemblies. Some are linked to history, such as Anzac Day and Remembrance Day. These are generally organised through HaSS as part of the course work for particular electives. Others, such as Harmony Day and NAIDOC, are linked to celebrations. These assemblies have a large student involvement and often involve extra activities throughout the school. Students will be notified through the notices when a special assembly is being held and how students can participate.

Student voice and agency varies depending on the assembly. Students may have opportunities to perform, give speeches or enter competitions associated with the day. Some activities may have co-ordinating groups that can be joined.
There may be activities, off school, related to particular events. Individual students, or groups, will be organised at the time to represent Canberra High.
