Discover. Act. Reflect. Grow.
The MYP Service as Action programme is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy, encouraging students to engage with their communities meaningfully while developing critical skills for lifelong learning. Through thoughtful action, students deepen their understanding of global and local challenges, contributing to positive change and personal growth.
As students contribute to the wellbeing of their communities, they gain a deeper understanding of the power they have to affect positive change in the lives of others through constructive, supportive, and reciprocal relationships.
Community Engagement is an experiential learning programme integral to the Middle Years Programme (MYP). It provides students with opportunities to:
Connect classroom learning to real-world contexts.
Develop empathy and a sense of responsibility for their community and the wider world.
Cultivate collaboration, communication, and other key interpersonal skills.
Reflect on their actions and personal growth.
Through Community Engagement, students become active, compassionate, and responsible members of their communities.
Our programme focuses on fostering:
Awareness of community needs and global challenges.
Engagement in meaningful and purposeful action.
Skill-building, particularly in collaboration and communication.
Reflection on personal and collective impact.
Students engage in a variety of service experiences, from group projects addressing school needs to individual initiatives supporting local or global causes. With each projecct, students engage with the Service Learning Cycle.
