Unmuting the Sit and Get
Clay Nolan and Lance Feuchter - CA-BOCES clay_nolan@caboces.orgParticipants will experience different strategies for enhancing their online synchronous presentations with engaging classroom activities designed for all learners, allowing them to transform their lessons. Implementing this structure assists students’ ability to interact and be involved with lessons instead of being caught in the sit-and-get, zoom fatigue. The animation feature on presentation platforms allows for spinners, trigger clicks, randomization, and reveals for student or teacher use. Design functionality allows students to card sort, make models, graph, collect data, and drag and drop multiples, etc. Combining these elements leads to collaboration, critical thinking, and discussion, critical pieces of science instruction in elementary classrooms.

For Teachers: Survival Tips for Parents of Children Enduring "New Math"
Valerie Samn, Rockland BOCESvsamn@rboces.orgAfter all this time, parents are still struggling with how to support their children with so-called "New Math." This can have the effect of sending conflicting messages mathematics is. In this session, we will discuss strategies that ALL parents can use to help their students in mathematics--regardless of their own perceived competence with mathematics. Participants will also come away with resources that they can share with parents.

All Standards, All Students
Holly Baldwin & Chris Leece, OCM BOCEShbaldwin@ocmboces.orgThe NGSS Diversity and Equity team takes the stance that the standards must be made accessible to all students, especially those who have traditionally been underserved in science classrooms, hence the title “All Standards, All Students.” - Okhee Lee
Join us as we dive deeper into the Next Generation Science Standards, Appendix D - All Standards, All Students: Making the Next Generation Science Standards Accessible to All Students. Participants will be asked to reflect on identified demographic groups and discuss implementation strategies based on research and case studies. Maximum number of participants is 50.
