Right Now Science Journals

Participants will hear an overview of the On-Demand Science Journals and view the menu of options. They will discover how to create their own as well as add their own material to the journals they create for their students.

Desmos for Beginners
Andy Mitchell, Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES andrew.mitchell@wflboces.orgIn this session, teachers who are new to using the Desmos platform will participate in a lesson, sign up for a free teacher account, and search for interactive instructional materials immediately relevant to their grade level and content. Participants will be able to use Desmos with their students the very next day, pending Ed Law 2D compliance

A Tour of a Wide Open School
Jennifer Talarico, Orleans/ Niagara BOCES jtalarico@onboces.orgParticipants will walk through Wide Open School, a free collection of online learning experiences and resources for kids curated by the editors of the nonprofit Common Sense Media that has been around for one year now. We will explore the different categories of resources including their Daily Plan, Math, Science, Art/Music/DIY, Emotional Well-Being, Life Skills, Digital Citizenship, Offline-Friendly, and their Family and Teacher Center. Time permitting, as a group we will complete a small number of the activities.
