Tutoring Resources
If you are in need of tutoring services, first of all well done! Not everyone is willing to ask for help, but tutoring is a great way to better understand a topic. Before consulting any of the services below, be sure to talk to your teacher during their office hours.

Peer Tutoring Program
Garber students can earn volunteer hours by participating as tutors in a peer tutoring program. If a student would like to sign up to be a tutor and/or sign up to see about reciving tutoring help from a peer, please fill out this brief survey.
Ms. Zielinski's After School Tutoring
Join Ms. Zielinski on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the Library. This is a great place to come to work on school work with access to technology & printers. Even though her expertise is in math/science, she will be happy to help proof-read essays and trouble-shoot ideas! In addition, if you have a test you need to make-up, you may choose to talk to your teacher about doing so during this time.

GVSU Virtual Tutoring
Grand Valley State University is offering free 1:1 virtual tutoring and homework support to all K-12 students in Michigan throughout the school year. Tutors, comprised of GVSU students, faculty, staff, and alumni, will be available Monday through Friday from 11a to 9p and Saturday from 12p-5p. Every tutor has passed a background check and all sessions take place through a monitored Zoom room. Content areas include English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. Tech Tutors
Tech Tutors consists of 40+ Michigan Tech student volunteers that provide free virtual tutoring services. Tutoring is available for any K-12 grade and any subject. They also have funding available to provide students in need with resources used during virtual tutoring sessions, such as internet hotspots. Visit their website to learn more.
SVSU at the Wirt Library
All are welcome to drop in for free tutoring provided by SVSU every Tuesday from
4-8pm at the Wirt Library (2nd floor). Writing workshops and on-on-one writing consultations will be provided on the 1st/3rd Tuesdays and math tutoring will be provided on the 2nd/4th Tuesdays. NOTE- this service has been suspended due to Covid-19 but will hopefully return by the end of the year.

Children's Dyslexia Center
Located at 614 Center Avenue in Bay City, the Children's Dyslexia Center provides free tutoring to students battling dyslexia. They offer a 2-year tutoring program that meets bi-weekly, so the earlier they are able to intervene, the better
