Testing (PSAT/SAT)

How do I see my scores?

Each time a student takes a test like the PSAT or SAT, they can opt in to receive text/email notifications from College Board. Students can log in to the College Board website here to view scores and print score reports. Please note, the SAT lets students list four colleges to receive their scores. If sending SAT scores to other colleges, download the PDF version of your score report, do not take a screenshot. Colleges do not typically request PSAT scores. PSAT 8/9

The PSAT 8/9 is the first in the SAT Suite of Assessments and is mandatory for 8th and 9th grade students. The PSAT 8/9 provides a baseline which allows students and educators to gauge performance over time and pinpoints areas that need to be strengthened. PSAT/NMSQT & PSAT 10

The PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is an optional assessment offered to both 10th and 11th grade students in October.  The PSAT 10 is the same test and is mandatory for 10th grade students every spring. This test is similar to the SAT, in that it is a practice test for college bound students to help them prepare to take standardized college admission tests that are timed and consist of multiple choice questions. SAT

The SAT is mandatory for all juniors. SAT scores are incredibly important for determining college admission, college merit scholarship amounts, and other scholarship awards. Colleges are being lenient for the incoming class of 2021 with when they receive SAT scores, but they do still need them. Students can take the SAT outside of GHS, but there is a cost associated with that option and you must register through College Board.

The SAT is typically administered the second week of April

M-STEP

The M-STEP online assessment system refers to the Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress, is aligned to Michigan standards, and is administered in the spring of each school year for juniors. This allows student measurement to be based upon current versus prior year learning. English language arts (reading and writing) and mathematics are assessed in grades 3-7. Science and social studies are assessed in grades 5 and 8 and 11.

The M-STEP is typically administered the second week of April

WorkKeys

WorkKeys® from ACT is a job skills assessment system measuring "real-world" skills that employers believe are critical to job success. It identifies gaps between student skills and employment needs. This assessment will utilize three of the eight WorkKeys Foundational Skills assessments: Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information.
