Transitioning into the IB Career-related Programme (CP) is an exciting opportunity to blend your professional passions with academic excellence. At the heart of this journey is the CP Core, designed to develop the real-world skills and ethical mindset you’ll need in any future career. The summer tasks for these four components - Community Engagement, Personal and Professional Skills (PPS), the Reflective Project, and Language & Cultural Studies - are your first steps in shifting from a student to a professional. These activities will help you begin identifying community needs, exploring ethical dilemmas in your career field, and building the metacognitive habits that define a successful CP candidate. By engaging with these core elements now, you ensure a confident and purposeful start to your Grade 11 year.

Welcome to the IBCP Reflective Project!
Over the summer, your goal is not to “complete” the project, but to begin thinking like a researcher, problem-solver, and reflective thinker. The Reflective Project explores an ethical dilemma connected to your career-related studies, so this task is designed to help you notice ethical issues in the world around you.

Choose ONE topic, issue, or event connected to an area that interests you (business, media, health sciences, technology, design, sport, hospitality, engineering, etc.).
Examples might include:
Artificial Intelligence in schools
Fast fashion and sustainability
Influencers and online advertising
Privacy and social media
Food waste in restaurants
Performance-enhancing drugs in sports
AI-generated art or music
Mental health and screen time

Create a short and creative response in ONE of the following formats:
A 2–3 minute video
A podcast/audio recording
A Canva/Google Slides presentation (5 slides max)
A one-page visual poster or infographic

Remember: there is no “right answer.” The Reflective Project is about exploring different perspectives and thinking critically.
