To help you transition seamlessly into the rigours of IB Diploma Mathematics, this subject page provides essential preparatory resources to support your move from Grade 10 into DP Mathematics. Beyond the required Summer Task, which is designed to strengthen your prior learning and prepare you for the analytical demands of the course, you will also find important information about the DP Mathematics placement assessment. This includes guidance on the assessment expectations, key prior learning topics to review, and links to recommended textbooks and resources.

There will be a DP Mathematics placement assessment during the second week of the next academic year, in September 2026. Final placements for all students will be confirmed after this assessment. We will also take into account the MYP 5 internal assessments, eAssessment, CAT4 data, and teacher recommendations before finalizing the DP Mathematics placement.

This assessment will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your mathematical knowledge and skills after the summer break. It also gives you time during the summer to review and strengthen the key mathematical concepts needed before starting DP Mathematics.
