Individual Development Readiness - Attention span, need for movement (frequent ‘GoNoodles’), interest vs. frustration, and need for socialization are all considerations in developmentally appropriate teaching of kindergartners.
Gradual Release of Responsibility – Students learn best when the material is presented through stages (teacher models, then teacher guides, then teacher assists and finally student works independently).
Curriculum Standards -The Dublin City School district utilizes the Ohio State Standards, which were adapted from the National Common Core standards, in Language Arts and Mathematics. We also use the Ohio state standards in Science, Social Studies and Health. Our School Counselor addresses Health standards as well.
