The Dublin City School district utilizes the Ohio State Standards, which were adapted from the National Common Core standards, in Mathematics. Resources to teach concepts include Number Corner and Bridges. These are comprehensive and developmentally appropriate for our kindergartners. We include whole and small group activities supported by math games and technology. We also do calendar, various types of graphing, Image Talks, 3 Act Tasks, and estimation. Developmentally, kindergartners benefit most by hands-on experiences so you will not see papers coming home daily. Early in the year, most math will be done using manipulatives (cubes, blocks, etc.) Later in the year we will add paper-pencil activities in preparation for first grade. We will also be doing STEAM activities.
Below are links to math sites we use in class and your child is welcome to use at home. Clocks and Money are not in the kindergarten curriculum but are available for enrichment.
