Dublin Jerome High School was named after Jerome Township in Union County. Its doors opened in the fall of 2004. The first settlers to Jerome Township were Joshua and James Ewing. Jerome Township gained national attention during the Civil War by sending more men, per capita, to fight than anywhere else in the country.
The Jerome attendance area was originally part of the Jerome school system. In 1952 Jerome schools and the Washington Local School District (Dublin) decided to join together in order to provide better education for both communities and prevent Hilliard and Worthington from taking them over.
