In my Junior year I founded my own non-profit called ABC's of Tomorrow. The goal was to help elementary/middle school students with their education in an underprivileged village in Sri Lanka called Gampaha. The name of the school was Asgiriya Mixed School. Through this initiative, I successfully raised 70,000 LKR to help with the funding of the construction of a school building in the village that progressing slowly due to limited funds. Additionally, I collected school supplies donations to distribute to children in the community.
We were able to support over 20 children in the community near the Asgiriya Mixed School through the generous donations and assistance of the EastLake and Drew communities, especially the StepUP program.
The school was accommodating 25 students in a small storeroom. To address this, construction of a new building began with donor support.
The organization remains committed to completing the project and providing a safe, comfortable learning space for all students.
