Algebra 2
I was assigned a STEAM project at the end of semester 2 in Algebra 2, which required me to draw and label a unit circle with each angle measured in degrees and radians, along with the coordinates at those angles of cos and sin. Then we had to color code and list each angle's tangent. Finally, we needed to find six real-life examples of trigonometry, two of which were science and two of which were engineering, to cover the Science and Engineering component of STEAM.
American Gov/World Geography
For this assignment, I had to draw and label the following information on my state map: Major geographic features, including mountains, valleys, lakes, and rivers. Major climate zones in the state. Biomes in the state. Indicate areas of highest population density. Indicate any major areas of wilderness or undeveloped land.
Computer Science Principles (Pathway)
In this project, I designed a site using website builder software. My website included a variety of HTML elements, including hyperlinks, ordered or unordered lists, images, headings, paragraphs, and CSS styles. For this project, I decided the theme to be a simple travel guide to Sri Lanka. Here I explained a few cities travelers must visit, food and beverages they must try when they visit Sri Lanka, as well as a few travel tips for their next trip.
Computer Science Principles (Pathway)
In this lab, I had to familiarize myself with the broken program, test the robot, and identify the main problem. Then I had to decompose that problem into multiple smaller problems. Next, I had to fix the program and take note of the troubleshooting strategies I develop along the way. Finally, I had to create a detailed troubleshooting guide that other people can use to fix similar problems.
Computer Science Principles (Pathway)
In this assignment, I was able to identify fake news on the internet and give examples of misinformation and true stories. I was also able to give reasoning as to why each example was misinformation or a true story.
Computer Science Principles (Pathway)
I was assigned to create a presentation that highlights the benefits and drawbacks of one emerging technology. I chose to discuss the impacts of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). I also mention its potential social, political, and economic impacts on the world.
Physics
In this lab station, I learned about energy and its forms. I began by drawing examples of different types of energy, and learned more about energy by completing different stations.
Physics
I was introduced to electrical energy, static energy, and electric force. I also learned different equations, such as the equation for electric field, and electric force.
Physics
In this lesson, I learned about alpha particles, negative beta particles, positive beta particles, and gamma rays. I was able to complete nuclear equations, and find half-life of particles.
Physics
In this assignment, I was introduced to waves and their energy. I also learned about wavelength, frequency, and different types of waves.
Personal Fitness/Health
We were asked to create an Artsteps exhibition about our 3 favorite topics from this course. My favorite topics were strength training, nutricious and delicious, and extreme sports. We had to include a video describing each topic, a brief description of the topic, three images, and a GIF that represented the topic visually.
Brainpop assignment
Personal Fitness/Health
We had to complete a Brainpop assignment about stress by first watching a movie about stress and then taking a quiz, completing a stress vocabulary, a stress worksheet, and a challenge on stress.
