PBL Quarter 1: TOYS & PLAY
Our Drew Eagles have been very busy this quarter! The kindergarten class implemented and practiced all components & elements of the S.T.E.A.M. process (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics), along with Writing and Language Arts integration.
Students used their speaking and listening skills when they interviewed their friends. The interview process was an essential component within our "Toys and Play" project, in order to learn more about their classmates' toy preferences.
Students learned about force and motion, created a blueprint and prototype of their friend's toy, engineered and designed a toy using recyclable materials, and incorporated attributes such as size, color, shape, and texture into their project.
Overall, the students learned a lot throughout this S.T.E.A.M. design process and had a great time along the way!
The pictures and video below capture all of the student's hard work and fun. Please check out their amazing toys! Thank you again for all of your support!
