My favorite part of the concert was getting to hear everyones part come together because we normally are split in each class, so getting to hear everyones voice was really nice
In chorus, we chose to do "LGPE" which stands for large group performance evalutation. In this video we sang a song called "O lux beatissima" Which is a song that translates to "O light most blessed, Fill the inmost heart. Of all thy faithful." The song is really about finding peace and joy in the tougest of situations and I really loved singing it. After we performed, the judges gave us a score of mostly all superiors, which is the highest score that you can get.
For this song, I thnk what I enjoyed the most was the contrast and the more upbeatness I had more that O lux beatissima. This song was one that I found myself singing over and over because of how good it was to the point where it became an earworm. I also really loved my peers solos and they sounded amazing.
In my class, we were lucky enough to be able to go to Georgia State university and sing 2 peices with lots of other choirs around georgia. The piece we sang here in this video is called "Sing Gently" and I liked this song because when we sang with the other schools and even some music majors who were studing music at GSU currenlty at the time, you could hear how nice the blend of each voice sounded.
The second song we sang was called "I sing because Im happy" and this song was a super fun, and more gospel piece. I always tend to love these types of songs because they bring me lots of joy, esspecially in this peice because the whole point of the song was to express your happieness through song, and I really had a fun time letting loose a little bit, espessially at the breakdown section :)
