~Project Summary~
For this project, our driving question was, "How can understanding the achievements and cultural legacies of ancient civilizations help us appreciate and preserve the diverse cultures that shape our world today?" and to answer this question we were tasked with creating a 5 minute video to highlight the achievments, culture, and modern impact of an ancient civilization of our choice. To give my own response to the question, I would say it that helps us recognize and value the diverse cultures that exist today, encouraging us to actively preserve them as valuable parts of our shared human heritage.
Geometry Backgrounds
In Geometry we did research on our civilization (Indus River Vally) and we focused on the landscape and architecture that defines the civilization. We made a presentation with background information and we answered 5 questions about the hisorical arcitecure and what geometric shapes can been seen throughout these buildings and structures. To inccorperatie this with the literature class, the architecural drawings we created from our civilization were used as backgrounds for our shortflim.
Shortfilm
Our Film is about the people of the Indus river valley, more specifically the dravidian tribe that was located in south india. They created amazing infrastructure with clay bricks and they practiced hinduism. A tribe from the north came (Aryans) and wanted to better the society, but the dravidians soon relized that the aryans were sneaky and wanted to take the dravidian caste system and place the themselves at the top. The story ends with an explanation of the how the civilization fell apart due to the aryan invasion.
Reaserch/Process
As a group, we prepared to create our short film about an ancient civilization. We chose the indus river valley civilization and then we did reaserch about the Geography,Religion, Acheivments,Politics, Economics, and the Society so we could plan what our movie would be about .
To get our project off the ground, we created our script and gave different lines to each persons assigned character based off of our plot diagram. we created the scenes for our shortfilm and established our plot, songs used, dialouge, stage directions,locations and we also decided what scenes we would use our green screen backgrounds for.
In class, we learned different parts of a plot stucture and what happens in the events of a story. We used the plot diagram to plan out our story of how the Indus river valley civilization was said to fall due to the aryans who migrated and caused havic. We planned our exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution.
