Today in chemistry we tried to make a forest green using , chrome oxide powder, iron oxide red and acrylic. We had to conduct this experiment three times to see if we can get different results in color. The first time we have made a lighter green so it wasnt close to forest green it was more like a minty color. The second time I feel like I made a perfect forest green color. The third time we have made a lighter green so it wasnt close forest green it was more like a minty color.
The first time I didn't make the paint perfectly. I didn't add all of the acrylic so it didn't come out as smooth as it supposed to be so it came out chunky . Then I didn't mix all of the powder that well so you can see some of the powder around he corners that didn't get mixed.
The second time I tried making the green paint it came out really well. It came out really smooth and it wasn't watery at all it felt like actual paint. I found out the correct amount of powder to use so I can make the correct color gradient for forest green. And used the correct amount of arylic so it wasn't wet.
The third and final time doing it, It came out like more of a minty green. The reason I think that is is because I used to much titanium dioxide since it more of a lighter green than a darker. I think if I would have poured more chrome oxide powder into the mixture it would have became a perfect gradient like how the second one came out. And I didn't fully mix it since you an still see some powder in the mixture hasn't been touched yet
Titanium dioxide
Chrome oxide powder green

In paragraph form, describe how you understand people started using abstraction in Modernist art. How does this compare to how other cultures use abstraction
People started using abstraction in modernist art after the camera was created, because a camera could capture scene , but not the emotion in those scenes. This is similar to other cultures, however, in African cultures they use abstract forms and visual metaphor to convey different messages.
How do you think abstract art could be related to science or math? How can data be used to create abstract art?
Abstract art can be related to math through the use of geometrical concepts. Including shapes, portions and measurement .Data can be applied to are to make different shapes and colors.
Do you think you like to work in a more personally expressive way or one that is perhaps more based on data?
Me personally I would like to work in a way that can more personally expressive more then using based on data.
After finally choosing what type of tattoo that I wanted to recreate was the Phantom Troupe spider. When I chose that I wanted to use this I started to sketch how I wanted to blend and make certain areas darker than others so the color popped out more.
After getting the approval for my idea for using the tattoo that I wanted to use, I started to draw on cardstock so I could start using the ink without giving it a weird look on a regular piece of paper. First I started to redraw the spider on the cardstock afterward I started inking out my piece of paper. After finally inking it out I started to use water to go over it to give it that washed and a shadow look.
Today in class we started a lab. In the lab, we tested what would melt the fastest water, salt, and sugar. I used an Iron plate to be my heater then one by one I put all the same weight on a scale to make sure it would all be even. we timed how fast everything will melt and ice is what was melted the fastest and salt wasn't melted at all.
1. What have you been taught about in art this year that relates to other classes?
The things that have been taught to me in visual arts are, learning how to do linear perspective and how you need to create an illusion of space and distance on a flat surface. Also, I learned about atmospheric perspective which taught me how to make an allusion to depth, or recession, in a painting or drawing by modeling color to simulate changes effected by the atmosphere on the colors of things seen at a distance
2. What have you done this year so far that demonstrates you understand the Principles of Design and Elements of Art?
The thing that most demonstrates that I understand atmospheric perspective was when we had a project that really showed how much I understand the assignment. We had to overlay a mountain.an make it looks like it was grass and mountain behind it.
3. How do you experiment with different possibilities in your planning and process and how can you show your process?
I combine all the perspectives I learned in class and put them all together to make a good drawing.
4. What famous/historic art have you learned about so far?
we learned about many art pieces such as the "Comedian" it was made by Maurizio Cattelan. It was basically a banna taped to the wall with duck tape, he also made a gold plated toilet . We learned about Justin Gignac and the art pieces he made like how he use trash in New York to make art cubes. and lastly we learned about Piero Manzoni and how he used his own poop and said it was art.
How did the Electron Configuration Mandala integrate STEAM?
the electron configuration mandala used steam by us using paint an drawing to represent art.
What were the main ideas you used from each class?
* There weren't ideals we just wanted to get it done with before it was too late .
3. How does the mandala help you consider new perspectives?
* Artists use mandalas to better understand the inner world of people and to help contain powerful, and difficult emotions. boost the immune system, reduce stress and pain, lower blood pressure, promote sleep, and ease depression.
4. How successful was your work, and why/why was it not?
*I feel like our work didn't fully reach our goals and what we intended it to look like. In the end, I felt like we rushed it since we didn't have that much time and had to get it done.
5.If you were the teacher, how would you change or improve the project for next year?
*If I was a teacher I would specify what type of materials we can use to color our mandalas. I would map out the Pacific days that we worked on since we were all at different paces. Give daily check-ups on the groups to make sure we're on the path of doing the work.
1. how the mandala is used .
*In the eastern religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Shinto it is used as a map representing deities, or especially in the case of Shinto, paradises, kami, or actual shrines.
2. how are mandalas related to world civilizations?
*Mandalas were created in the service of one of the world's great religions, Buddhism. They were produced in Tibet, India, Nepal, China, Japan, Bhutan, and Indonesia and date from the 4th century to the present.
3. What principles of design can you see?
*Repetition is one of the most visible principles of design in a mandala design. Rhythm the spaces between repeating elements can cause a sense of rhythm to form, similar to the way the space between notes in a musical composition creates a rhythm.
4. How could you use a mandala to show an atom?
*You can use the crushed marble to show the electron layers that are being used to show all of the electrons then make a nucleus and put all of the protons and the neutrons inside of the nucleus.
Today in class I worked on Atmospheric structure and working with layers and digital tools, to make the background you see now.

Art is a form of creativity made into something. I also believe other subjects can be called art. Other forms of art are music, painting, and literature. Literature and music can put an image inside of our head showing imagery like a painting. Art can put your feeling into the creation you can put your point of view into it, and others can show different means into it.
