In this video you can see how my teammate talked about the Colombian exchange and what food that was on the eastern hemisphere that was used to be traded with the western hemisphere.
In world history we started to learn more abut he Columbian exchange and got more information on what happend. After, getting taught what we needed to know from our teacher Ms.Cain. She put us into two separate groups one was the eastern hemisphere and the second one was the western hemisphere. We were tasked of getting food items from the chosen hemisphere that we were on and make meals.
In art class, we started to learn more about ceramics and what techniques to use to be able to make the right type of structure that we wanted to make. Those techniques are pinch, coil, and slab. After being taught these techniques we were giving the task to create a table setting inspired by one of the countries that was in the Columbian exchange. After we were done making the table setting we had to make a placemat.
In literature class we were put into groups and inside of those groups we had to make a dish for the whole class using only the items we have got from our chosen hemisphere. After making the dish that we wanted to present to the class everyone was able to get an part of the dish so that they can try.
Inside algebra class, we started to learn about food swamps and food deserts. what a food swamp is when you are in an urban environment with few to no grocery stores but several non-nutritional food options such as corner stores or fast-food stops, So it's generally a ratio of four unhealthy options for one healthy option. A food desert is when an urban area has limited access of food that is plentiful, affordable, and nutritious food buying affordable and good-quality fresh food. The way this correlated with our project is because it's with the food for thought. So we had to go research about what a food desert and food swamp then did research on what countries and cities have them and make a graph and afterward present it to the teacher.
The things I saw at the High museum was historical art that include paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints made by artist. That wasn’t a new experience since I already been to an historical museum before but this was kinda a new experience since it was art and sculptures this time so it was kinda interesting to look at.The No Mas Cantina wasn’t a new experience for me since I already went there before so it wasn't really exciting for me to go there , I always like the scenery what was there .
