Pro-Natalist Poster

This project revolves around a country with a low natural increase rate, this means that their population growth is slow or negative. In the long terms, this will create a smaller workforce and a smaller economy. The goal for the project is to come up with Pro-Natalist plans for these countries. I chose Singapore as my country because their natural increase rate is below 2, which represents a negative population growth. By 2045, the population is projected to hit a high and began to decrease.

In an attempts to recovered Singapore's population growth, I came up with some Pro-Natalist policies: Paid work leaves for both newborn parents, flexible working hours for parents, support for medical cost before childbirth and expanded income tax for parents with multiple kids. I decided to do this project because it is something we learned about in class.

Ping Project

In this project, we compared a develo"ping" country and a develo"ped" country. We researched their demographics and use that information to create population pyramids, data sheets, demographic transition placements, and political/physical maps. We also had discussions over these countries.

I liked this project because we got to learn more about two countries. It was interesting to see how different and similar the "ped" and "ping" countries could be. We also did a lot of research which was a less fun part about this project. However, through the research process, we learned a lot of APHUG terms like natural increase rate, crude birth rate, crude death rate, GDP, and etc.
