Suicide Prevention was my topic and here was my script:

Suicide is the second leading cause of death in teenagers and we are here to spread awareness of the topic and to show you how you can help prevent it. I'm sure you’ve heard of this before; tell someone if you think you are going to harm yourself.

As we get older, we are at higher risk of commiting suicide. This happens due to lack of intervention from families, friends and the school system. The first step that should be taken is to create a department of mental health which our school has. A system where there are many people who can help you, or to help you find someone who can help you with absolute confidentiality. Although our school has a great system, many other schools in the country does not and that is a problem. Teenagers who have conflicts with their family in these schools will have no one to talk to and eventually, the stress will collapsed on itself leading to teens committing suicide. Schools should begin to conduct mandatory lessons for teachers and students about the warning signs and the risk behaviors that teens may conduct, and how to understand and support students with these behaviors.
