In geometry I applied transformations by designing a video game with 3 levels. After designing my video game, I turned the video game into an animation. The goal of my game was to get wallie to get batteries foe his other friends from the junkyard . In order to complete my game, translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations had to be used. It was important throughout the process that we remembered the differences for each transformation. A translation moves from side to side, a rotation allows the item to rotate, a reflections reflect the item over the line and a dilation enlarges or makes the item smaller.
During this activity we had to find the circumference & diameter of our cookie to then split into halves, then 2 unequal parts on each half. After doing this we calculated the area of the whole cookie to use the formula and find the sector area. We also used a protractor to find the angles of each cookie. It was a fun and interactive way to understand the concept of sector area and arc lengths.
