In 11th grade, I brought STEAM to life through entrepreneurship and creative expression. I launched my own small business, Caleb’s Crafts, where I used principles of Math and Technology to budget, price, and promote handmade items. From calculating inventory costs to designing packaging, I applied real-world skills that helped me grow as a young entrepreneur.
At the same time, I dove deeper into Art by continuing to study legendary artists and creating my own pieces inspired by their techniques and styles. This process allowed me to explore different ways to express meaning through visual storytelling, sharpening both my creativity and critical thinking.
Through each project, I saw how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math work together—not just in theory, but in the things I build, the messages I share, and the path I'm paving for myself.
In Art History, we didn’t just study the past...we stepped into it. From Van Gogh’s bold brushstrokes to Basquiat’s raw expression, we explored the lives, styles, and methods of legendary artists. Then the real challenge came: recreating their magic. We brought history to life by crafting our own pieces inspired by their techniques, turning research into creativity and classrooms into studios.
The picture next to this excerpt only shows a glimpse—it doesn’t do justice to how this idea grew from a classroom project into a full small business. What started as a creative assignment in my entrepreneurship class quickly became Caleb’s Crafts, a business built on originality, hustle, and heart.
In class, we learned the fundamentals of starting and managing a business—branding, budgeting, marketing, customer outreach—and I applied every lesson to launch something real. I crafted custom pieces, developed pricing strategies, and even created my own packaging and promotions. Every part of the process—from product design to customer satisfaction—became a chance to grow not just a business, but a mindset.
This isn’t just a class project anymore—it’s a brand that represents who I am: creative, driven, and ready to build something of my own.
