The Origin of ACE is the story of me as a superhero fighting for the inclusion of S.T.E.A.M.—making sure every student sees the power of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in their future. Creating this video was more than just a project; it was a full-on experience. From planning out the scenes to recording and editing, we followed the full design process—brainstorming, storyboarding, testing ideas, and making changes along the way.

I learned how much goes into bringing a creative vision to life—from camera angles to editing effects—and how important it is to mix creativity with problem-solving. It wasn’t just about making a cool video. It was about using the tools S.T.E.A.M. gives us to tell a story that matters. Henrietta Lacks was a Black woman whose cells were taken without her permission, and they ended up changing the world. Her cells, known as HeLa cells, helped make huge medical breakthroughs—like vaccines and cancer treatments. Learning about her made me realize how often people like her get overlooked, even when their impact is massive.

To me, she represents why S.T.E.A.M. matters. It’s not just about science or tech—it’s about people. The “A” in S.T.E.A.M.—the arts—helps us tell stories like hers, ask the hard questions, and make sure people aren’t forgotten.
