12th grade marked a year where STEAM came together in powerful and practical ways. In my Dual Enrollment class, I designed and organized my own Track Meet, combining Engineering and Math to plan every detail—from logistics and budgeting to timing and event coordination. It was a hands-on project where I applied my knowledge of planning, structure, and leadership to bring a real event to life.
Additionally, I continued to grow in Art and Technology through my involvement in theater productions. As a leader in theater tech, I wrote detailed reports on productions I helped guide, from the technical aspects of lighting and sound to the challenges of coordinating a team. The experience of merging creativity with technical execution in theater taught me how to adapt, innovate, and lead in dynamic environments.
In 12th grade, I learned that STEAM isn't just about individual disciplines—it's about how these elements intersect to create meaningful experiences and drive change.
As part of my Dual Enrollment course, I fully planned a mock track meet from start to finish—coordinating events, managing logistics, designing marketing strategies, and considering athlete experience. It wasn’t just about the races; it was about running the show behind the scenes.

In theater tech, I specialize in lighting and design, helping shape the atmosphere and emotion of each production. Before opening night, I work behind the scenes to plan lighting cues, build color palettes, and make sure every effect matches the director’s vision. During rehearsals, I fine-tune timing, make adjustments based on stage movement, and ensure that the lighting supports every scene transition seamlessly.
When the show begins, I’m in the booth—locked in. I run lighting cues live, troubleshoot in real time, and help create the magic the audience sees on stage. Every spotlight, fade, and blackout is part of the story we’re telling.
