Intro to Digital Tech

In  our Digital Tech class, everyone contributed to help build an immersive experience. The idea was to incorporate different parts and fill our PBL lab with an interactive display. The theme was water and I was apart of set design. I created two things: a pollution chandelier and a bayou scene based on the movie The Princess and the Frog. I am most proud of the Pollution Chandelier because I feel that I used the materials we had available in a creative way. The idea to used plastic materials was also smart because that itself is keeping trash out of the ocean. If we had more time I think the Princess and the Frog scene would have resembled the movie more, nonetheless I still believe the finished product turned out well.

Pollution Chandelier

This design was inspired by the large amount of pollution in our oceans. I wanted to spread the theme of recycling by making a piece of art using trash. It consists of water bottles and trash bags as well as other scrap materials I found, such as tulle and string. The fish that are hanging up are also water bottles. To make the piece visible in the dark, I added fairy lights.

Bayou Scene

This bayou scene was a fun way to incorporate one of my favorite movies to this immersive experience project. The display is inspired by the date scene that Tiana and Naveen had on top of their ferry. Because it was in a corner, lights were an important part of this scene.
