There are six main types of angles you need to familiarise yourself with for Year 7 Mathematics. These are important to learn as this content will link to angle relationships in the future.
ACUTE ANGLE: Angles that are less than 90 degrees.
RIGHT ANGLE: An angle that measures exactly 90 degrees.
OBTUSE ANGLE: Angles that measure greater than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees.
STRAIGHT ANGLE: An angle that measures 180 degrees.
REFLEX ANGLE: An angle that measures greater than 180 degrees but less than 360 degrees.
REVOLUTION (FULL ANGLE): An angle that measures 360 degrees.
A line extends infinitely in both directions, a ray extends infinitely in one direction from a single endpoint, and an interval (also called a line segment) is a portion of a line with two endpoints.
A line goes without end in both directions.
A ray has 1 endpoint and goes without end in 1 direction.
An interval has 2 endpoints.
