Industrial Technology Stage 6 consists of associated industry specific content and terminology, project work and an Industry Study that develop a broad range of skills and knowledge related to the industry focus area chosen, and an introduction to industrial processes and practices.

In the Year 11 course, students must design, develop and construct a number of projects (at least one group project). Each project must include a management folio. Students also undertake the study of an individual business within the industry.

In the HSC course, students must design, develop and construct a major project with a management folio. They also undertake a study of the overall industry related to the specific focus area.

Students are rewarded with the satisfaction of designing and completing their own major project.

This course allows entry into University and TAFE. It is a useful subject if you are interested in the Timber trades, basic engineering (certificate level), or Business Management.

Year 11 Modules:

The following sections are taught in relation to the relevant focus area, including associated industry specific content and terminology:

Industry Study – structural, technical, environmental and sociological, personnel, Occupational Health and Safety.
Design and Management – designing, drawing, computer applications, project management.
Workplace Communication – literacy, calculations, graphics.

Assessment HSC only

- A 1 hour and 30 minutes external written examination
- A Major Project
- Folio (Maximum 80 pages)
- Optional 6 min video presentation
