In HSC Drama, students study the practices of Making, Performing, and Critically Studying Drama.
Students engage with these components through collaborative and individual experiences.
The Year 11 course is an experiential study of the following content:
Improvisation
Play building and Acting
Elements of Production in Performance and Theatrical Traditions
Performance Styles.
Through the study of theoretical components, students engage in practical workshop activities and performances to assist their understanding, analysis and synthesis of material covered in a variety of topics.

A Group Devised Project
Contemporary Australian Drama and Theatre and Multi-Discipline Theatre involve the study of plays and practitioners through practical exploration of themes, issues, styles, and movements of traditions of theatre exploring relevant acting techniques, performance styles, and spaces. These topics are assessed in a written exam for the HSC
The Individual Project is negotiated between the student and the teacher at the beginning of the HSC course and must be chosen from the following: Performance (monologue), Video Drama, Critical Analysis, Design, Scriptwriting. This project is then assessed externally as part of the student's HSC.
The Group Performance is a student devised piece of theatre consisting of a group of 3 and 6 students and based on a stimulus topic list. Students create an 8-12 min piece of performance that is externally assessed as part of their HSC.
