The staff and I hope this newsletter finds all of our North Salem families well.
I am excited at all of the fantastic learning that I am seeing take place at North Salem already this school year. Our youngest students in Kindergarten have come a long way since the first day of school. They have settled into a regular school routine and are working on early literacy and math skills. Our other students have also shown excellent PROUD behavior. As I walk into classrooms, I see a population of students that are focused, dedicated and working hard to learn new things. One area of note is the number of eggs given out already this school year. (Teachers can award an egg to any classroom showing exemplary PROUD behaviors.) The bulletin board in the cafeteria is already filling up with many white eggs and already some golden eggs. I look forward to seeing who will be awarded this year's Golden Egg Award at the end of the year.
All families should have already heard from their child's teacher regarding Parent Conferences which are scheduled for Wednesday, November 1, Friday, November 2, and Thursday, November 9. This is an important time for families to hear about their child's progress. If you have not received any communication regarding scheduling a conference, please contact your child's teacher or the North Salem Office.
I look forward to the wonderful learning yet to come this school year. Please let me know if you ever have a question or concern by calling the school at 717-292-8071 or sending me an email at cyoung@doversd.org.
