Hello NSE Families!

We have had a few days where spring is certainly in the air and right around the corner. If you are like me, you are looking forward to nicer weather and a chance to be outdoors. 

Over the last several weeks we have had a number of great experiences for our students.  On Wednesday, February 14 students and staff were treated to a preview performance of DAHS's presentation of Matilda. It was wonderful to watch our students take in selections from this production. From February 26 through March 1 we celebrated Read Across America Week by taking a journey to 5 different biomes located across our country. We have many additional experiences planned for the weeks ahead as well. March is Music In Our Schools Month. A district wide music concert is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 6:30 in the High School Auditorium. Teachers have been busily booking field trips for April and May. And we close the month of March with the end of the third marking period (March 26).

I want to take a moment to thank our PTO for the work they do to support our students and staff. This tireless group of individuals plans and implements our family fun nights, pays for grade level field trips, supports our staff with wonderful monthly treats, and hosts school events such as Fun Day at the end of the year. They are always looking for more parent volunteers. Those interested are encouraged to attend their monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of every month. • KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION -

Families who are planning to register a child for Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year can begin the process on the district webpage. Registration information can be found here.

• 3 - HOUR EARLY DISMISSAL 

Students will have a 3 hour early dismissal on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

• PTO MEETING

The next PTO Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26 at 6:30 PM in NSE's Library.

• END OF 3RD MARKING PERIOD

The third marking period ends on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Report cards will be available for families in the parent portal on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

• NO SCHOOL 

School will be closed on Friday, March 29 and on Monday, April 1, 2024.
