BIG IDEA - Guiding Question
Space is the relationship between objects, the viewer, and the environment.
How can I use Space to map the distance between the places I lived and who I am today?
VA:Cr2.1.7a (Creating – Organize and Develop Artistic Ideas and Work)
Standard:
Demonstrate persistence in developing skills with various materials, methods, and approaches in creating works of art or design.
Objective:
Students will apply two-point perspective techniques by constructing a drawing that uses a horizon line and two vanishing points to accurately create the illusion of three-dimensional form and spatial depth.
How it works:
1. Establish the Horizon Line and Vanishing Points:
Start by drawing a horizontal line and placing two vanishing points on it.
2. Draw a Vertical Line:
Choose a point on the page and draw a vertical line. This line represents the corner of your object.
3. Connect to Vanishing Points:
Draw lines from the top and bottom of the vertical line to each of the vanishing points.
4. Define the Object's Edges:
Draw vertical lines to define the width and depth of your object. These lines should be parallel to each other and to the first vertical line.
5. Erase Construction Lines:
Remove any unnecessary construction lines to reveal your finished two-point perspective drawing.
