Money Week 2022
Across the country it is Money Week. This is a chance to think about the money you have available and how you can budget/spend.
With the current cost of living crisis that is affecting households across the UK, this week we want our students to think about how they manage their money. We can all do a bit extra to look at how we budget the money we have access to.
Access the budget calculator from the Prince's Trust by clicking on the image below to see how you could improve managing your finances.
Three key facts to know about this money week:
1. The cost of unleaded and diesel has reached record highs at forecourts. Did you know that 17% of the pence per litre is VAT (Value Added Tax).
The below infographic provides a breakdown of how the cost at the pump is made from.
2. In May 2022 HM Land Registry reported that the average house price for first-time buyers in Great Britain was £231,704 in March 2022, an annual increase of 8.9% and a monthly change of 0.2%.
From completing the budget calculator and three facts from this week, what (if anything) will you start to change about how you manage your finances ?
On campus we can help and support. Our Student Support Centre's can offer help with finances and budgeting. You can also speak with a Coach in your area.
