Personal Development, Behaviour and Attitudes
Leading up to the Easter break we want to remind everyone about our student feedback process.
Student voice is an essential part of how we operate as a College Group. Student voice shapes the College, what we do and how develop.
You'll see this artwork across all our campuses which ask you to provide us feedback.
This is part of your opportunity for you to exercise your democratic freedom.
This week, use your Personal Developmental Behaviour and Attitude session to provide us some feedback about College / campus / life as a DNCG student.
Safeguarding and Inclusion
An important focus on the information we need all our students to be aware of is extremism.
Extremism is defined as:
“...the vocal or active opposition to our fundamental values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and respect and tolerance for different faiths and beliefs. We also regard calls for the death of members of our armed forces as extremist.”
This can be something difficult to explain and understand. To give you an idea of what this means we are using this clip about the Woolwich boys. The Woolwich boys - are a largely Somali led south London street gang targeted by extremists.
Consider and answer the below. Share your answers with your tutor.
Questions
How was he able to empower himself and disassociate from the extremists?
At what point do you think his friends crossed the line?
If they had been your friends, what advice would you have given?
Leading up to the two week break, we wanted to inform you of the services that are in place outside
External services if you are need or support or in crisis.
You will find details of local and national organisations which you (or others) could access if required.
