New Dominican students receive an email invitation to set up a Dominican Okta account. This account is where you can set up and update your Dominican password and multifactor security settings. Okta also lets you quickly access other Dominican websites and services via launcher tiles (apps) on your Okta dashboard.

Just click on a Apps on your Okta dashboard to access a Dominican service
Remember, for security reasons, do not share your login with ANYONE else

We have a physical ID card system called a Penguin Pass. Each year you get a new sticker for the new term (not a new ID card). There is a $20 replacement fee if the card is lost. The ID card may be used for:
Meal plans and/or meal cash value
Bookstore purchases
Conlan access
Library card
Door / dorm access
Laundry services
Vending machines
On campus printing (.10 b&w / .20 color)
Stop by the IT Department during operating hours with a physical form of identification which has your name and photo.
Acceptable forms of identification include:
Drivers License
State ID
Passport or Passport Card
Employment Authorization Card
Military ID

Penguin Pass
All students receive a Dominican University of California email address. Dominican will use this email address to send you important updates and information. You can read more about the Dominican email policies in your student handbook.
Your Dominican email address is: first.lastname@students.dominican.edu.

We use Google’s gmail system for email
To access your Dominican gmail (and other Google services), go to https://gmail.com or sign in via your Okta dashboard: https://dominican.okta.com
Download the gmail app to get your Dominican emails to your phone (Play store on Androids | Apps store on Apple devices)
Throughout the semester you will receive important information from departments such as Financial Aid, the Registrar, Business Services, etc.

Note: when logging on to campus computers or WiFi, your username is your Domincan ID number (rather than your email address)
Your Dominican ID number is a 7 digit student ID # (starts with 5 or 6) = 5XXXXXX
if you ID number does not start with a 5 or 6, you need to enter presiding zeros i.e., (ID number is 23491, username is 0023491)

LOGOUT of all services and LOGOUT of the computer when done (these are shared computers so you need to protect your credentials (username/password)
DO NOT SAVE documents on lab computers (all data is wiped at the end of every semester)
WiFi & Dorm Internet Service
Use “dominican wireless”

Wifi registration lasts for about 4 months
If internet / wifi is not working, contact the IT Help Desk by stopping by the office or calling (415) 257-0123
To access wired internet service in the dorms, plug in an ethernet cable into the port labeled D for data
Fill out the form here for internet access for gaming devices, smart TV's, apple TV's, Roku's, Firesticks or other similar devices that might not let you self-register via the registration web page
We require all students to have virus protection software on their personal PC’s
Moodle
An online system used by instructors to make assignments, communicate with students and track academic progress.
Access: Dominican email address + password
Classes appear 1 week before first class start date and disappear 4 weeks after semester is over
Note: you can also use the physical value add machine located in Alemany Library to add cash value to your physical ID card
