This is a seminar-based curse that intends to guide the students towards academic writing. As a prepara- tory course to the final project, it shows examples of contemporary academic writing within relevant con- texts, through selected contents which support the virtuous circle between media production and aesthetic innovation.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 CFA credits.
Successful students will be able to:
→ Be familiar with different models of academic writing
→ Understand and apply different models of academic writing
→ Be acquainted with the main reference texts in the fields of interest
→ Choose appropriate sources
→ Organise and value the sources inside their arguments
→ Understand the contemporary aesthetic considerations in the field of new media
Identification of concepts and locations through iconographic research
Creation and definition of mood and concept for the future project
Experimentation with meta-design until concept approval
Design
Techniques for presentation, documentation, graphic presentation and development of a communication strategy for the final event
→ Different models of academic writing
→ Contemporary aesthetic considerations
→ Contemporary media considerations
This is a theoretical course. Didactic activities may include:
→ Classroom lectures
→ Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools for detailed study
→ Classroom debates and presentations
→ Individual study and research
→ Exercises and revisions
Assessment is based on the overall competence of the students and may include:
→ Oral exam
→ Short essay
→ Submission of papers, projects or research work
