APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
The course aims to provide students with a greater understanding of non-linear and interactive narratives, with particular focus on virtual spaces and sound. Design lessons are accompanied by a workshop directed at teaching students how to use the main software and platforms to develop interactive solutions.
The programme grants 12 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
→ Apply non-linear narration
→ Apply principles of interactivity
→ Apply algorithms as the basis of design
→ Understand and apply the logics of a new programming language
→ Introduction to sound design
→ Narration and aesthetics of sound design
→ Designing interactive sound environments
→ Introduction and use of MaxMsp
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
CAD:
Completion of comprehensive projects
Submission of exercises, projects or research works
PHOTOGRAPHY:
Graded exercises/revisions

INTRODUCTION TO LAB:

The final grade will result from the weighted average of the programme modules.
Assessment is based on the final projects presentation and may include:
→ Oral exam
→ Creation of project documents
→ Creation of tech demos
→ Assessed revisions or mid-term tests
The assessment criteria refer to the quality of contents, methodo- logical consistency of the projects, creativity and originality of the projects.
